Offer a free poll/survey on your website
What could be more rewarding than gathering the right information to draw visitors to return time and time again to your website? Nothing really except, maybe your website making oodles of money while you sleep. That can happen! The very purpose for your websites existence on the web is the market you can reach globally, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Generating traffic to a
website is the BIG focus in today’s web market place especially among web designers-developers on the cutting edge of creating a successful website.
There are several keys to the issue of traffic or hits to a website. We will focus on adding a website poll/survey in this E-tip. The purpose of your poll/survey is to create a more interactive environment for your potential clients that will be beneficial to all. Catching the interest of your visitors can generate participation in the poll. Their curiosity of what others think will have them polling and as a bonus, a kick back for you. The design of a poll or survey is very simplistic, easy to setup and can yield great rewards. A website poll/survey does the work for you!
Developing your poll/survey
• Think about what your potential client, what their wants and needs are. Having a poll may generate a totally different response that you had originally thought. What had worked yesterday may not be for today’s marketplace. The world is continually changing and especially in the technology field so keep that in mind when seeing through the eyes of a visitor to your website.
• Take your time and ask questions that are relevant to today as well as to the content on your site. The questions should have your interest as well as your visitors.
• Food for thought: too many questions can lead to disinterest. Your website is one click away from a potential client clicking to another website. Content is key not quantity.
• Asking questions with multiple choice gives the visitor more choices to make their answers tailor made to their wants and needs. Below are several online examples that can help you to develop a poll/survey that is a web traffic grabber.
In summary polls and surveys are very effective for gathering information from your visitors. They are the simplest of tools and therefore can be changed often. When a repeat visitor sees the changes made to your website, the will feel that their imput matters and is appreciated for taking the time to complete the poll/survey. Examples of changes: new articles, tips and information that were part of a recent poll taken on your site. With that in mind they will recommend your website to several others. For you this is still the best tool around
word-of-mouth on and off the net.
