This is a book that is very moving and the reader has the hope for a positive outcome in the ending. As a Christian I would say this is not for the Christian that is faint of heart. Some of the subject matter in this book is of a very brutal nature. There is an underlying reality of issues that are not really talked about in a society or culture today.

I found myself sobbing several times for the characters in this novel. The author is very good at character development and keeping the reader turning the page. It’s a bittersweet portrayal of loyalty, friendship and a boy wanting his fathers love.

Kite Runner helps us to see some of the deeper issues we deal with in life and how they affect us throughout our entire lives. This is a must read!
